Ekaterina Zhurakovskaya received her MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2013 and then her PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Eastern Finland in 2019. Her PhD studies were focusing on brain connectivity in healthy and diseased brain during natural and urethane-induced sleep in animal models measured with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography. The area of her interests lies in the complex data analysis of multimodal brain connectivity datasets. Since April 2019, she has worked at the Centre for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) in Minneapolis, MN, USA as an exchange scholar of the European RISE project. The aim of this project is to study the human brain structure with a combination of MRI techniques.
